My entry for GMTK GameJam 2024 

Controls Desktop:
  • Use WASD, arrow keys, or IJKL for movement of your ship around.
  • Use O and P buttons for context sensitive actions.
Controls Touchscreen:
  • Use the Joystick for movement of your ship around.
  • Use the Buttons for context sensitive actions.
Gameplay:

You are a resource hauler that just arrived in a new planet system. Your job is to ball and haul.

Roll over the surface of the planets to create resource balls. Then press the "Leave Gravity" button to lift from the surface. Align a target planet or station with the center of the screen, and press the "Autopilot" button. If you can't get a good target lock, use the "Accelerate" button to move forward into a better alignment.

Lock onto the process station to autopilot there. Once there, your resources will be (slowly) gathered and sold. Rince and repeat. If you get bored, maybe draw some fun patterns on the surface. Or fly manually to the station for that feeling of autonomy.

I did not have enough time to set specific goals in the game. But the main gameplay loop is in there at least.

Tools used:

Vanilla JavaScript for core game code (don't judge ;P). THREE.js + GSAP graphics and animation. Photoshop for pixel art. All content made by me. Built in 96 hours (did sleep 8 hours a day, I'm not used to all-nighters anymore 😉 )

Love the gameplay loop, and the visual style. Great job!
